Hayden´s 2012/13 Video Highlights & Statistics
The 2012/13 season was a travesty of justice for Hayden. He had taken his rest following the previous season and had trained super effectively prior to the pre-season. His speed was absolutely electric and probably one of the fastest in world football. During one speed training session he was timed at 4.00s for 30m and that was on a dirt pitch in football boots. He could half squat 200kg, himself weighing just 64kg, so this is over 3 times his body weight and he was fitness tested 61.5ml/kg/min and that was at the end of his preparation for pre-season training where no fitness training had been undertaken. During this period he had worked very hard on his football technique and he had improved significantly in all areas. In essence he was looking and performing amazingly.
However, two weeks into the pre-season with his new club Huracan Valencia he sustained an injury. Hayden tried to recover from this in order to play some football so he underwent treatment 2 times per day and reduced his training volumes significantly. After 3 months he finally felt like he was ok to play, so he played 2 games, from which some highlights are below, but he is clearly still restricted as his speed in these highlights is not nearly as electric as it was prior to the season. However he did play some very good football but in order to allow the injury to heal fully he was required to stop football and all activity completely for nearly 6 months. Therefore he only played 2 games in the entire season.
So it was unbelievably frustrating for him but he managed to stay focused and determined all the way through this injury, working very hard through his rehabilitation and he is ready to begin the 2013/14 season.
